Emulsions are chemical systems. They should never be mixed with other types of emulsions or other chemicals!

When the Estoflex SM gets COLD, they shrink, and this means that the bitumen droplets get close together.

The Estoflex SM may flocculate and may coalesce.
If the Estoflex SM does either of the above, it will settle out faster.
If the Estoflex SM freezes then the droplets are frozen in contact and the emulsion will go back to bitumen on thawing.

This can happen if the emulsion gets below 4°C for most types of emulsion.

When the Estoflex SM gets HOT, they expand. Thus, for an emulsion, heating is useful. However, when water gets hot; its

evaporation rate increases enormously.

Due to such evaporation, the droplets get closer together and can go back to bitumen by the flocculation coalescence mechanism.

If any part of the Estoflex SM gets hotter than 95°C, then localized boiling may occur with the droplets fusing back to bitumen again.

Drums should be stored in reference to the above principles of storage and handling.

The drums should not get too cold; hence they should be stored upright above ground and under proper shelter. (Cold countries)
Drums should be stored under clean and sheltered conditions.
The emulsion should not be allowed to settle; drums should be rolled and end over ended every month.
Drums should be thorough rolled well to agitate the contents before any application.
